Another questionable ingredient is nano-hydroxyapatite. This is an ingredient that has been banned in the UK with little scientific consensus on it’s safety. The European Union was concerned (2021) that the tiny particles could accumulate in organs leading to some unknown consequences. As of March 2023 they have stated it is safe in concentrations up to 10% in toothpaste and 0.465% in mouthwash. It is not currently FDA approved.
